SLC personnel monitor and broadly supervise the project’s progress to ensure timely and successful completion of the project. The Home Location Register Innovation (HLRi) team strength (comprising of people from Siemens and GKS) is 120 and is situated at Munich, Berlin, Bad Herzfeld, Bangalore, Vienna and Herentals.

• To migrate the successful SIEMENS HLR from the proprietary EWSD platform to a commercially available platform (SUN or SUN-compatible)
• To cover all the needed hardware and most of the necessary software with OEM products and maintain the Telco specific requirements for high performance and high availability.

| Technology: |
The HLRi implements the ETSI/3GPP specified HLR and AC functions for mobile networks. It is the home location register and authentication center, i.e. the database where the current locations, subscriber parameters and security credentials of all of the mobile subscribers are permanently stored in the home network. The HLRi can be integrated into a UMTS environment as well as into a GSM environment. The HLR Innovation is based on multi-purpose continuous availability Siemens middleware termed @vantage, which is built from standard IT technology (e.g. UNIX, Java, and XML). The HLRi has been designed to run as a stand-alone HLR/AC.
