SmartSecure is an IT hardware security device. It uses Smart Card & reader and can be used with PCs, Laptops, and servers. SmartSecure does not circumvent Windows 2000 security; rather it is fully integrated into the Windows 2000 logon and security systems. It merely requires the presence of two authentication factors for logon.•  Ownership of a physical key or what you have - a smart card.•  Ownership of a piece of knowledge or what you know - a smart card Personal Identification Number (PIN).

•  Like an ATM card, unless PIN on card is authenticated, you cannot access the device

•  PIN authentication is done on the card.

•  Only after successful PIN authentication, user credentials are read from card and passed to Windows security for authorization.

•  Automatically locks the system when user card is removed from the reader.

•  Generation of reports for: - Login Details user logon details - User Action Details any password change or PIN change on the card - Personalization details of card personalization.
